Kat Wiranowski is the woman behind Sudstress. Her fascination with handmade soap began during a month long trip to Alaska in 2002 after graduating from college with a B.A. in Film. Originally buying the soaps mostly as gifts, half of them ended up in her own shower. After a short lived attempt at marketing Alaskan soap in Atlanta, the suggestion was made that she might make her own. The seed was planted and six months later she made her first batch. Since then, Kat has made hundreds of pounds of soap. Then, in mid-2008, Sudstress was born. Sudstress soaps are 96% - 100% natural and are a gentle alternative to the 'big box brand' which has a reputation for leaving skin dry and itchy. Part of the reason handmade soaps are gentler to the skin is that they retain the glycerin that is naturally formed during the saponification process. Glycerin is a natural humectant; it draws moisture to it from the air which in turn keeps your skin from feeling dry or tight. Whether you prefer natural, earthy essential oils; bright, fun fragrances; plain soap or exfoliating, scrubby bars, you're sure to find a combination that suits you. Original recipe Sudstress artisan soaps include various a combination of oils such as olive, coconut, cocoa butter, fair trade shea butter, rice bran, castor bean and RSPO (roundtable on sustainable palm oil) palm and palm kernel. The recipes are well balanced between cleansing, moisturizing, lathering properties. There are always new formulations in the works at Sudstress, including sugar scrubs, mineral bath salts and body oils. To see the increasing line of products available, please go to
